Some Tax Refunds are Being Delayed by the IRS.

The IRS is holding nearly 30 million tax refunds for manual processing. Recent COVID-19 relief legislation passed by Congress threw a monkey wrench into an already complicated year. Additionally, the IRS’s call centers are being overwhelmed, with the majority of calls going unanswered.

The IRS’ National Taxpayer Advocate Blog goes into more detail. The blog post re-iterates the IRS’ earlier announcement that refunds may be delayed and there is little they can do to help.
