CMS has provided some helpful tips on the Value Based Purchasing pilot that is going to affect 9 states (Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington). The information shared includes setting up a point of contact for the pilot program and setting up access to view reports and data about your agency.
Point of Contact: Every agency in each of the 9 states needs to establish a point of contact with CMS. The point of contact should be the owner, administrator, director of nursing or director or QA/QI. To set up the point of contact, your agency must email hhvbpquestions@cms.hhs.gov. In your email to CMS, you need to include just one person as the point of contact, your CMS Certification Number (provider number), agency name (legal name) and your agency’s address.
CMS Secure Portal User Account: Your agency’s point of contact should establish an account for the portal, CMS Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM): https://portal.cms.gov/wps/portal/unauthportal/home /. The portal will provide reports on measures for which the pilot program is using data and other relevant data about your agency.
