Humana has been on a buying spree…the insurance provider has purchased two major national hospice and home health providers. Earlier this month, Humana along with TPG Capital, and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe purchased Curo Health Services.
In late July, Humana completed the purchase of Kindred at Home from Kindred Healthcare. These purchases are following similar consolidation of other health insurers who are aggressively focusing on the Medicare Advantage market. By controlling the provider and health insurance, the insurer can focus on reducing services and padding the bottom line.
