The Senate Passes Bill to Delay Medicare Sequestration

Modern Healthcare reports that the Senate voted to delay Medicare payment cuts for the rest of the year. The bill is expected to quickly pass through the House and be signed into law by President Biden.

The scheduled Medicare sequestration cuts had been set to resume on April 1, 2021, resulting in a 2% cut in Medicare reimbursement for most providers. Fortunately, senators considered the impact of the pandemic as well as the politically disastrous results of letting the cuts resume.
