Hospice News: California Aide-in-Dying Law

The controversial law which allows patients to expedite the dying process has been put on hold by a state judge in California. Physicians are barred from prescribing any lethal drugs and pharmacies have stopped filling prescriptions.

This injunction has left an estimated 200 patients across the state in limbo until an appeal can be sought. Other states have similar laws to expedite the process for terminally ill patients and have not been effected by this ruling. We will keep you posted via our website and the next edition of Hospice Today on new developments.
