Four Times as Many Medicare Advantage Plans Offer Palliative Care in 2020 than in 2019

Duke University’s Margolis Center for Health Policy has released a new study examining all the latest changes in supplemental benefits offered by Medicare Advantage Plans. Key among the changes is the dramatic increase in palliative care benefits. In 2020, there are 61 plans offering palliative care benefits, compared with only 15 in 2019. Palliative care is primed for significant growth in the coming years, with state demonstrations and the Medicare Advantage Hospice Carve-In set to begin in 2021.

In our January issue of Hospice Today, we do a deep dive on all things related to palliative care – from market conditions to compliance considerations, profitability and billing. If you would like to receive a copy of Hospice Today at no charge, contact us today!
